As part of the Rendez-vous with the world program.

Hello, world!

  1. Anne-Lise Koehler, Éric Serre; France; 2019; 67′ – as part of the Rendez-vous au cinéma program

A gentle and unusually beautiful animated film, screened at the Annecy Festival, the world's most important animation festival. The creators crafted each animal by hand from papier-mâché and brought them to life using stop-motion animation within painted sets.

The film follows the adventures and growth of a sparrow, an otter, a European pond turtle, beavers, and other animals that share the same river world, showing the youngest viewers how everything in nature is connected.

It is intended for the youngest audience, but adults who bring them along will also enjoy it, if only for the beauty of every frame.

Rendez-vous au cinéma, a French film program organized by the French Institute in Croatia, the Independent Cinema Network, and the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC), is holding its 12th edition this year in 52 independent cinemas across Croatia.
