Due to its unique brackish waters, the area is well-known for mussel and oyster farming and features an internationally recognized rowing course used for sports training. The historic center consists of stone houses and the 16th-century Church of St. George, while the main swimming spots are the bays of Šarina Draga and Dobrika. Cultural life is highlighted by the Zatonska Pisma klapa music festival and the celebration of St. Roch's Day.
