The foundation of the winery lies in the vineyards of Bucavac, a location world-renowned for its unique cultivation methods. Twenty thousand vines across roughly two hectares are planted in dry-stone walled plots—small stone squares built by hand on the karst terrain. These plots remain challenging to cultivate today, but they yield fruit with a character that cannot be replicated anywhere else. After processing, the wine is aged in 500-liter Croatian and American oak barrels, ensuring the wood does not overpower the original varietal flavor of the grapes.
Current annual production is approximately 13,000 liters across all three varieties, with Babić accounting for about 5,000 liters. The total capacity is twenty thousand bottles per year. The range includes Babić, Opolo, and Debit. The winery views Debit as a variety with untapped potential: it has a light character and a drinkable profile, with future prospects for sparkling wine and prosecco production.
The tasting room is located in a former local schoolhouse. The old teacher's apartment in the attic has been converted into a tasting space featuring original exposed beams, with a capacity for about twenty guests and a summer terrace. The label was designed by Mirna Ptiček, featuring a dry-stone wall grid and a vine in the shape of a rooster—the symbol of the Prgin family, who descend from the Pivčevi lineage. The winery has no road signs, but it is easily accessible to sailors from the nearby marina.
