Izvor Cetine- Glavaš (Cetina Spring - Glavaš)

The largest spring of the Cetina River and one of the most famous natural phenomena of the Dinara mountain range

Veliko vrilo Glavaš is the largest of the three main springs of the Cetina, alongside Vukovića vrilo and Batića vrilo. The springs are located along the edge of the Paško polje field, at the foot of the Dinara, where the impermeable marls of the field meet the limestone of the surrounding plateau. Thanks to these natural conditions, the water rises to the surface, creating impressive blue and green hues.

Glavaš is a submerged speleological site, and its underground depth attracts the attention of researchers and nature enthusiasts alike. The clear water reveals the depth of the spring and creates a scene that changes depending on the light, weather conditions, and the observer's position.

The Cetina springs are protected as a hydrological natural monument and are now part of the Dinara Nature Park. A well-maintained walking path leads to Veliko vrilo, and there is a nearby viewpoint with a rest area, allowing for a pleasant exploration of this natural site.

A visit to the Glavaš spring can be complemented by a tour of the nearby Church of the Holy Savior, one of the oldest early Croatian churches, and the cemetery with tombstones (stećci) from the 14th and 15th centuries. The combination of exceptional nature, mountain landscapes, and valuable cultural heritage makes Veliko vrilo Glavaš an essential destination in the area around Knin and the Dinara mountains.
