Šubićevac Forest Park covers approximately 548 hectares on the slopes of the hill of the same name above Šibenik and represents one of the city's most significant green spaces. Its development began on February 3, 1924, when members of the local hunting society initiated tree planting and the creation of the first walking paths through volunteer work. Shortly thereafter, the "Šubićevac" society was founded with the goal of transforming the hill into a city park. A hundred years later, the forest continues to serve as the green lungs of Šibenik, forming part of the Gvozdenovo-Kamenar significant landscape and standing as a valuable example of urban green infrastructure.

A network of paths winds through the forest, leading up to a viewpoint with views of the city, the harbor, and the surrounding channel. Along the trails, visitors will find monuments that bear witness to the historical significance of this area for the local community. In addition to the walking paths, visitors can use the fitness trail and outdoor exercise equipment, while a children's playground, popular with families from nearby neighborhoods, is located in the lower part of the park.
Over the past decade, the City of Šibenik, in cooperation with the Public Institution for the Management of Protected Natural Areas of Šibenik-Knin County, has been gradually renovating the forest park—from clearing and maintaining greenery to installing benches, lighting, and other urban amenities, with the goal of fully restoring this space as a place for walking, recreation, and relaxation in the heart of the city.
