The Mali Viganj windsurfing school has been operating since 2016 at Jadrija, a location that local surfers have associated with windsurfing for decades. The school's name is taken from a section of the beach well-known among Šibenik sailors and is inspired by its similarities to Viganj on the Pelješac peninsula, one of Croatia's most famous windsurfing destinations.
Jadrija is recognized for its favorable sailing conditions, thanks to the various types of winds that shape the experience on the sea throughout the year. The maestral is most common during spring and summer and is suitable for beginners and recreational sailing, while the jugo, bura, and tramuntana bring more challenging conditions preferred by experienced surfers.
Thousands of students of all ages have passed through the school over the years. Programs include the basics of windsurfing, equipment familiarization, and independent sailing upwind and downwind. In addition to the school, the space includes a beach bar and serves as a gathering place for the local surfing community and visitors interested in outdoor activities by the sea.
Mali Viganj is part of Jadrija's sports and recreational offerings and represents one of the locations on the Šibenik coast dedicated to windsurfing and the culture of life by the sea and wind.
