The lakes are called "Colorful" because they change color and shade depending on the time of day, the angle of the sun's rays, and the reflection of the sky, creating a mesmerizing visual spectrum from emerald green to deep turquoise and blue. The most spectacular sight occurs in the late afternoon, when the calm lake surface shines like a mirror, creating a perfect reflection of the surrounding greenery and steep cliffs. The shores of the lakes have retained their original, wild form, with an average depth of about 11 meters, while in some places they plunge to 30 meters.

Today, free from mass tourist crowds, the lakes represent an oasis of absolute peace, ideal for quiet walks, meditation, and picnics in nature. They are also a top location for sport fishing, rich in various species of fish. From the shores of the lake, there is a beautiful view of the contours of the hills and the monumental walls of the Knin Fortress, which gives the landscape a special historical charm. The lakes are extremely easy to reach, located right next to the state road, and in the summer months, the water is clean and suitable for refreshing yourself on the hidden beaches.
