Why visit
Vineyards with UNESCO intangible heritage status
Primošten developed on a small islet that was connected to the mainland in the 16th century, and its old town core still retains the charm of a Mediterranean fishing village today.

Stone houses, narrow streets, and its position on a peninsula create the impression of a town that has remained closely tied to the sea. At the highest point of the old town stands the Church of St. George, offering views of the open archipelago and the coast.

The landscape around Primošten is famous for its Babić vineyards, carved into the karst soil between dry-stone walls. The Primošten vineyards are on the UNESCO Tentative List for World Heritage as an example of a unique cultural landscape created by centuries of manual labor on stone and soil. The vineyards in the Bucavac Veliki area are recognizable by their regular plots bordered by dry-stone walls, which make the landscape look like a stone web from the air.

Primošten

The Primošten coast is lined with numerous pebble and rocky coves suitable for swimming, sailing, and short boat trips. The Raduča peninsula is one of the most famous swimming areas, while the Kremik marina serves as an important nautical starting point for sailing toward the Šibenik archipelago and the islands of Central Dalmatia.

Located about 25 kilometers south of Šibenik, Primošten is easily accessible for a day trip or a multi-day stay on the coast. Seaside promenades, views of old stone houses, and vineyards in the hinterland make it one of the most recognizable places on the Dalmatian coast.
