Devotion to Our Lady of Loreto in Primošten dates back to 1835, when local resident Marko Prgin brought a painting of the Virgin Mary from Loreto, Italy, establishing her as the town's patron saint.
The magnificent Our Lady of Loreto statue, unveiled in 2017, stands 17.30 meters tall including its pedestal, making it the largest monument of its kind in the world. Constructed of concrete and covered in a lavish mosaic of gold, silver, and colored glass, the statue features an ancient Croatian crown, with the face crafted by renowned sculptor Nikola Vudrag.

The viewpoint offers one of the most beautiful vistas in Dalmatia, providing a panoramic view of the Primošten peninsula, Rogoznica, Šibenik, and the distant islands of the Kornati and Hvar archipelagos. During the summer months, the plateau beneath the statue transforms into an attractive concert stage hosting famous performers. The Primošten Madonna is included in the international project of Marian pilgrimage routes, and traditional processions are held every year on the feast day of Our Lady of Loreto. A paved road leads to the top of the hill, and next to the viewpoint, there is a modern café with a terrace, perfect for watching spectacular Dalmatian sunsets.
