For everyone visiting Šibenik with children, we have prepared suggestions for education, recreation, and fun for the little ones in the city and its surroundings throughout all seasons.
In addition to being known as a Child-Friendly City, Šibenik has also been home to the International Children's Festival for over 60 years, which lasts for two weeks after the school year ends in June. This time, known in Šibenik as the fifth season, is a time when the city breathes with children and for children, making it ideal for a family stay. Enjoy seaside fun at one of the nearby beaches during the day, and immerse yourself in the festival magic in the evening.
Places you must visit with your little ones include:
- Aquapark Dalmatia, located in Amadria Park Šibenik, where swimming is always possible regardless of the season or tourist period. It consists of a summer outdoor section and a year-round indoor section.
- The Falconry Center in Dubrava, just a few minutes' drive from the city, where you have the opportunity to encounter live birds of prey.
- The Happy Horse Farm of the “Kolan” Equestrian Club, also in Dubrava, where you can see various domestic and some exotic animals in their Mini Zoo, as well as ride ponies and horses. The farm also offers therapeutic riding, buggy rides for children, and play on the playground with trampolines.

- The Dalmatian Dog House, where children will not only learn about the history and significance of this spotted breed but also have the chance to play with live Dalmatians.
- St. Anthony’s Channel Visitor Center – after a pleasant walk along the activity-rich eastern side of the Channel and swimming at nearby beaches, this center is ideal for little nature lovers. Through the interactive “Touch of Nature” exhibit, it introduces little ones to the secrets of the underwater world and the biodiversity of the Channel.
- The “Faust Vrančić” Memorial Center, as part of a trip to the island of Prvić, where children can run around without fear since there is no regular traffic. This interactive center provides education and fun based on the inventions of the Croatian Leonardo.

- The Croatian Coral Centre Zlarin is a must-visit stop on any island excursion, offering interactive exhibits on red coral and marine biology for all ages.
- Šibenik Fortresses – at St. Michael's Fortress, after an exciting walk along the walls, the interior reveals 3D projections inside the former water cisterns. At Barone Fortress, history is retold through augmented reality (AR) technology that you can experience as you walk around.
- Krka National Park – at the old mills of Skradinski Buk, traditional crafts and the way of life along the Krka River are showcased as a living ethnographic collection, while one of the mills houses a small presentation centre telling the story of Krka's hydroelectric power plants. A trip to Krka is an essential excursion for anyone staying in the Šibenik region—a family experience you will remember. While walking across the wooden bridges, children will have the chance to see numerous plant and animal species up close.
- Vransko Lake Nature Park – nature lovers, especially birdwatchers, can enjoy an adventure park here featuring a zip-line and suspension bridges in the shade of a pine forest.
- Pulse Arena Šibenik – located in the immediate vicinity of the Dalmare shopping centre, this amusement park offers numerous adrenaline-filled activities, an escape room and an outdoor trampoline park.
- The Mali Viganj windsurfing school in Jadrija and the Wind Rose water sports centre at Amadria Park are places where you can learn to windsurf while enjoying other "sea-based fun."
