Over centuries of construction and reconstruction, the old town core of Šibenik has been shaped by a series of palaces whose facades still bear traces of Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles. Beyond the palaces, the core hides a series of smaller monuments and details that bear witness to the city's daily life, administration, and architecture – from city gates and defensive walls to Renaissance inscriptions and traces of communal planning.
