Reaching Šibenik by car directly via the A1 motorway

The A1 motorway, also known as Dalmatina, runs right by Šibenik, allowing for a quick arrival from the direction of Zagreb, Zadar, and Split. The city has its own motorway exit connected directly to the access road leading to the center, making your arrival simple and avoiding the need to pass through other major cities.
Distances and estimated travel times

Travel time depends on traffic and the season. During July and August, especially on Fridays and Saturdays, delays are possible on the A1 motorway—particularly on the sections between Karlovac and Zadar.

Arrival route via the A1 motorway

From the direction of Zagreb, take the A1 motorway south to the exit for Šibenik, which connects to the D533 road leading directly into the city.

From the direction of Zadar, take the A1 motorway south to the same exit, and from the direction of Split, take the A1 motorway north.

The motorway is a toll road. The toll for a passenger car on the Zagreb – Šibenik route is approximately 18 to 20 €, depending on the payment method and vehicle category.

Payment is possible via: cash, bank cards, or an ENC device.

Parking in Šibenik

The old town center is pedestrian-only, but parking is available right next to the center.

Šibenik as a base for excursions

A car is a practical choice for exploring the surroundings of Šibenik and the nearby national parks.

Krka National Park is about 15 km from the city center.

The Kornati Islands are accessible via boat trips from the town of Murter, located about 35 km.

Zadar and Split are both about an hour's drive away.

Plitvice Lakes are about a 2.5-hour driveaway, making them a feasible day trip if you leave early.
