Šibenik is undoubtedly a destination worth staying in for longer, as it is located exactly halfway between Zadar and Split, with nearby Trogir and the Dalmatian hinterland also within easy reach.
Setting off from Šibenik in the morning and returning in the evening after a full-day trip to Trogir and Split, or perhaps Zadar with a stop at Vransko Lake Nature Park, is a great idea for your remaining days.

For nature lovers, there is the option of visiting the more remote Šibenik islands – Žirje and Kaprije – or exploring the hinterland, the Šibenik part of the Dalmatian interior, by visiting locations along the upper course of the Krka River within the national park, Meštrović's Mausoleum, Drniš, Etnoland, or Knin, home to the second-largest fortress in Europe. The hinterland is also home to numerous acclaimed wineries with tasting rooms where you can enjoy local wine varieties.
